How Biology Influences Women's Mating Strategies
Men are either invisible, draft animals, or breeding stock.
This meme describes the eight men that women love.
Her first love, who lives in her heart forever.
Her ex-boyfriend, whom she looks back on with rose-colored glasses, wonders if it could ever work again.
Her online flirt, a guy she hasn't met in the real world, but she fantasizes about.
Her current man. (Notice there's no description here.)
Her backup man, a co-worker or a friend who could be turned into a boyfriend if needed.
Her second backup man, just in case.
The man who is stuck in the friend zone but is very helpful with the chores and the errands.
Her celebrity crush. Note, all others will be dropped should he become available.

While this is funny, it’s also a good illustration of how women resolve cognitive dissonance. When I detail the behavioral aspects of women's menstrual cycles, I also detail their cycles of attraction. How do these cycles affect their mental states? What type of man is she looking for when she gets divorced, and she's 40 to 50 or 55? There's a lot to unpack here. These archetypes are real for women. They’re funny for a reason — they're relatable, and it resonates with women. For guys, these aren't very useful for us. We can distill these guys down into three different types.
There are only three types of men for women. The invisibles, draft animals, or breeding stock.
